Broadtree bring the holiday spirit on original single, "It's Christmas (So It's Okay)"

Coming up on their year anniversary as a duo, Broadtree are ending 2021 with a bang by releasing their all new single, “It’s Christmas (So It’s Okay)”. We’re loving this one! Read for on our review of the track, as well as a refresher on the band.

Staying unbelievably consistent and releasing a ton of memorable singles, an album, and EP’s, Broadtree are capping off a successful first year with a little bit of holiday cheer. On their newest single “It’s Christmas (So It’s Okay)”, Armand Antony and Nicole McCafferty continue to do what they do best and craft up music that not only makes you feel good, but continues to shapeshift multiple genres in the process. If this is your first introduction to their music, you’re in for a total treat.

On the background of the song, Nicole says, “We found ourselves thinking of all the stressful and hectic things we put up with every year during the holidays. Instead of focusing on a skeptical and Grinch-y outlook, we wanted to write about the spirit that refuses to be dampened - the reason that we grin and bear it for the love of Christmas.”

Now with so many covers coming out during Christmas time, it continuously feels like artists everywhere might feel the obligation to add their own into the mix. In this case though, Broadtree have gone the bold route and created something original for the season that has turned out undeniably fresh sounding. Using their signature country style and evenly showcasing their talents throughout the track, Armand and Nicole have hopefully created something that will be covered by others for years to come.

As we write this review with Thanksgiving right around the corner, we can already see ourselves playing this song well into the New Year past the holiday time. So much of what we enjoyed about it is that even though the lyricism is holiday-based, their timeless instrumentation is something that can be listened to anytime. Even comparing it to their past works, it just goes to show you that with the passion and soul that they bring to everything they make, the styles are limitless.

With all that being said though, not only are we recommending that you check out the song, but go ahead and jump down the rabbit hole of their ambitious 2021 releases. You can find everything important by clicking the links below, enjoy!
