Carlo Capobianco tells all on debut single, "Call You Sometime" - Interview

With his first ever single “Call You Sometime” recently released, we were lucky enough to get to speak with emerging artist Carlo Capobianco! You can watch our full featured interview below.

At only 22 years old, Carlo Capobianco is an Italian-Canadian singer and songwriter who is currently based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Creating an instant classic on his debut single “Call You Sometime”, we got all the important information and insight into how the song came about, the artist’s inspirations, and what we can expect going forward. The priority is to listen to the song, but don’t miss out on our chat either.

Influenced by some of the greats such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, and plenty more, Carlo has still managed to impart his own sense of signature style into the mix. Speaking directly on “Call You Sometime”, what we loved so much about this track is its elements of the 80’s that took a backseat to the modern sounds included. While it’s certainly inspired by the past, it’s not fully in your face. The way that Carlo was still able to pay tribute to the songs of the 80’s was surely a nice addition.

In speaking with the artist about the creation of the song, Carlo let us know that this song was recorded in the late month of October with Adam Fuhr of the well-known Winnipeg band Yes We Mystic. The song covers themes about that special tingle you get when you’re falling in love with someone. Carlo says, “everything is candy coated, there are sparkles in your crush's eyes, everything they do is beautiful”. It also has to do with longing, yearning, and restlessness. It’s the feeling of not knowing for sure what your crush feels, which is absolutely a situation most have found themselves in.

For a debut single, we can confidently state that Carlo has knocked it out of the park. Even better is that there’s more on the way in the coming months and years. You should definitely hop on the bandwagon now, and the best place to start would be with a listen to “Call You Sometime”. We’re guaranteeing you’re going to love it!
