Einsam teases high-powered single "At Eye Level" off upcoming EP
Teasing the first track off of his forthcoming EP is the new solo project of Einsam! We’ve quickly fallen in love with everything surrounding his first single, “At Eye Level”. Please read on for our full featured review, as well as a much needed background on this emerging artist.
Representing the Bristol music scene is the work of producer and songwriter, Sam Jackson. Going under the moniker of Einsam for this project, he’s just let loose the first song titled “At Eye Level” off of his EP, Samantics. Blending together a wild mix of genres, but ultimately fueled by a heart pounding electro punk beat, all who choose to give a listen are going to be impressed with what they hear.
Written over the course of four years while living in Vienna, this preview song off of Samantics is one that covers the themes of representation and how we view the world. While of course the lyrics are meaningful and profound, it’s quite difficult to make those connections on your first listen because the song is perfectly produced. Taking notes from LCD Soundsystem on how to properly lead a song to its climax, everything about “At Eye Level” is a true masterclass on how to structure a song.
As it ramps up to a full on explosion in its second half, there’s a seemingly infinite amount of looping rhythms and pulsating instrumentals that take over the listeners conscious mind. Paired with those striking vocals that keep us all grounded throughout the song, the background of it at all is in a frenzy at the same time. For us at least, we had to give multiple listens to really grasp what we were hearing, which is a contributing factor to just exactly why we enjoyed it so much. It’s not one note, it stops and makes you think, and there’s so many subtleties that show themselves with repeated listening.
To say we’re excited for the full EP would be a complete understatement. The level of power that Samantics is going to hold will be earth shattering and we’re 100% here to follow along with the journey of Einsam. We suggest you do the same.
