Emily Yacina announces new album "Veilfall", shares lead single & video for, “Talk Me Down”
Long Beach-based singer-songwriter Emily Yacina has announced her long-awaited new album Veilfall, set for release on September 26th. Alongside the announcement, Yacina unveiled the album’s lead single and accompanying video, “Talk Me Down,” a track that encapsulates her signature blend of vulnerability, experimental vocal textures, and crystalline production.
For over a decade, Yacina has carved out a distinct space in the indie music landscape, self-releasing a treasure trove of delicate, emotionally rich songs that feel both intimate and otherworldly. As Stereogum aptly put it, her catalog is filled with “wrenching melodies and delightfully off-kilter meditations on time and absence.”
While she’s lent her talents to collaborations with notable artists like Alex G and Rostam, Yacina’s solo work has always stood apart. Her voice—sometimes slyly winking, sometimes soft and lilting, sometimes fragmented and reassembled as a sonic texture—has become her most recognizable instrument. It’s a quality that makes her music instantly familiar yet perpetually surprising.
With Veilfall, Yacina enters a new chapter. The album arrives six years after her debut studio LP Remember The Silver, a record that garnered critical acclaim for its raw emotional depth and minimalistic charm. This time, she expands her sonic palette, working with a roster of top-tier collaborators who help bring her luminous production ideas to life while keeping the deeply personal essence of her songwriting intact.
Lyrically, Veilfall sees Yacina diving into nebulous emotional territories with a sage-like clarity, particularly around the complex experience of grief and the alienation that often follows. She’s less interested in linear narratives and more focused on capturing the intangible—the subtle shifts in consciousness that accompany loss, healing, and self-discovery. It’s a record that promises to be as much a mirror for its listeners as it is a personal exploration.
Adding to the excitement, Yacina will hit the road this fall as a supporting act for Frankie Cosmos on their North American tour. This run will see her performing in intimate venues across the West Coast and Pacific Northwest, giving fans the perfect setting to experience Veilfall’s intricate textures and emotional pull live.

With Veilfall, Emily Yacina continues to solidify her place as one of indie’s most quietly transformative artists—a singular voice unafraid to embrace the ephemeral, to mine the most delicate corners of human emotion, and to do it all with a wink, a whisper, and a production aesthetic that’s as forward-thinking as it is timeless.
