Fantomacs brings new life with cover of Elderbrook's "I'll Find My Way To You"
Continuing on his hot streak of releases in 2022, Fantomacs has slid in at the end of the year with a fantastic new cover from Elderbrook titled “I’ll Find My Way To You”. Read on for a closer look into the track, as well as a background on this talented artist.
Fantomacs has been all over the place this year in terms of high quality output and always keeping us guessing as to what might come next. As a live musician, keyboardist, producer, and so much more, we’re thrilled with how his cover of Elderbrook’s “I’ll Find My Way To You” turned out. As major fans of the original, this is an interesting take, but one that fully does it justice and imparts the artist’s own signature sound into the mix. Of course, we’re recommending everyone check it out as soon as possible.
While the finished version of this song has been completed since around 2021, you can only imagine the sheer joy to know it’s finally out in the world at the end of 2022. Now when it comes to cover songs in general, we’re honestly always hesitant to listen because a majority of them are note for note remakes. Typically there’s no originality or freshness, but on the complete opposite end, Fantomacs has simply revitalized a new life into this already amazing song. With complementary vocals, those pulsating synthesizers, and plenty of fun twists and turns, dare we say we’ve enjoyed this more than the original. If anything, we confidently think Elderbrook would be ecstatic with the final product.
Before you dive in for a listen, we’d urge everyone to check out the original, just to be a bit more familiar and make the connections through the differences. All in all, Fantomacs version feels a lot lighter in its production and we much prefer the female vocals as opposed to the original. Some instrumental bits are definitely in the same vein, something tough to veer from in a cover regardless, but ultimately it’s such a solid representation of the best parts of this song. Let this be your gateway to the greatness that is Fantomacs’ original works too!
