Georgina Makdessi crafts a perfectly emotional single, "Feel It Now"
Out officially on May 27th, 2022, Georgina Makdessi has a brand new and inspiring sounding single titled “Feel It Now”. Do yourselves a favor and please check out our full review below, in addition to a background on the artist.
Co-written with singer and songwriter Justin Mark Dunford and produced with Daniel Natoli at Kiln Studios St Peters Sydney NSW, all the collaborators on this song clearly put their heart and soul into something that ultimately turned out quite special. However, for those unfamiliar with Georgina Makdessi, she’s currently making a name for herself within the Sydney music scene and is a classically trained artist. The effort shows on all ends and “Feel It Now” should 100% be up next in your listening queue.
On the background of the track, “Feel It Now” delves into multiple themes but has a focus on “meeting someone special for the first time and about our impression of them and how they would feel about a relationship once it develops”. It’s a situation that’s all too difficult nowadays, but Georgina so elegantly paints a picture into the process with clever songwriting, and as mentioned, a seriously inspired tone that the song holds. In our opinion, the single as a whole feels optimistic from the start and paired with a vibrant instrumentation, had us in a hopeful state for not only the artist, but for those who relate.
What we enjoyed the most about this overall though was how well Georgina toed the line of staying emotional and sincere with creating a catchy pop-centric single. So often in pop-rooted music comes the necessity of keeping things light hearted in the lyrics to focus more on cheap production tricks to entice the listener, but here is different because she’s actually managed to create something that goes both ways. It goes to show that the song composition and attention to detail was fully thought out before recording it all. Honestly, we’ve listened over and over at this point and it’s gotten better with each listen!
