Gianluca Todisco explores the mystery of connection on the hypnotic "AMNESIA"
There's something so so captivating about a song that manages to make you dance and think at the same time, and that's exactly the space "AMNESIA" occupies. Rome born, Los Angeles based artist Gianluca Todisco delivers a genuinely unique Afro House track here, one that pulls you onto the dancefloor while also inviting you to sit with some pretty big questions about connection, memory, and fate.
At its core, this song explores the idea of soulmates, not in a simple romantic sense, but as two people who might be endlessly searching for each other without fully understanding what they're looking for. Todisco describes it as an invisible thread stretching across time and space, pulling people back toward each other across different chapters of life. That concept of forgetting, of meeting someone and feeling a strange, unexplainable familiarity, gives the song its title and its emotional center, and it's a genuinely thought provoking angle to build a dance track around.
Sonically, "AMNESIA" is outstanding! Dare we say one of Gianluca’s best and we’ve reviewed him a ton over the years. The production, beat, and overall sound design here are excellent, giving the track a real physical pull that makes you want to move, close your eyes, and just let go. But there's also something more introspective happening underneath all that rhythm and we think you’ll feel it quite quick. Todisco's vocals sit moody and centered right in the middle of the mix, giving the song a real sense of depth and texture that keeps it from feeling purely physical. It becomes almost dreamlike in places which was completely unexpected, but always welcomed.
At just about two and a half minutes, "AMNESIA" hits hard and moves efficiently, never overstaying its welcome while still leaving a real impression. The lyrics genuinely make you think, tying into Todisco's broader artistic interest in the relationship between music, spirituality, and human connection, exploring those moments when intuition feels stronger than logic and reality seems a little more mysterious than what we can physically perceive.
Coming off his debut EP "THE INNER CIRCLE," released back in 2025, this single shows real evolution in his sound, leaning into Afro House production in a way that feels genuinely fresh within his catalog. We really thought it suited his vocal style perfectly and we’d love to hear more like this that goes even more into the spiritual realm.
He’s truly outdone himself here and that’s why we’re overwhelmingly recommending you give this a spin! Do yourselves a favor and enjoy the rest of his catalog too, because it’s a treat. Enjoy!
