HD-4884 and Torii Wolf team up and push all boundaries on newest single, "Death Awaits"

In collaboration with Torii Wolf, HD-4884 has released a stunning new single, titled “Death Awaits”. Please read along with us as we break down our thoughts on the track, in addition some insight on the making of the song.
For those who may be unaware, HD-4884 is an underground Bass, Mid Tempo and Experimental Artist from North America. HD’s musical journey began while listening to Squarepusher & Aphex Twin in 2018. Working tirelessly on sound design, and taking those influences of current modern audio production of today’s Electronic pallet. HD-4884 strives to blend IDM, Bass, Cinematic and performance art into their production and live set.
“Death Awaits” is the 3rd official release coming from the artist and it just so happen to feature vocalist and songwriter, Torii Wolf. Together the two have come together to create absolutely greatness within a short time frame on this newest single. We absolutely love what we heard, but to be totally honest, it was more of an experience than a casual listen. We’d like to prime the reader by letting them know that for the best effects while listening to “Death Awaits”, listen on a great pair of headphones or sound system for all the subtleties you may be missing!
For those who may be living under a rock, we’re currently living through a pandemic, so the only communication between HD & Wolf was through text & email, which is incredibly impressive that they were still able to pull this off. Allowing one another to creatively and artistically express themselves without limitations or restrictions during their solitude of creativity was paramount to the creation of the song.
As far as the music goes, wow, there’s a lot to unpack here. As mentioned before, it is 100% an experience that goes by way too quickly. The glitch hoppy production by HD-4884 and stellar added vocals from Torii Wolf make for a truly original sounding track that needs to be heard by all.
What’s equally as amazing as the song is the Visualizer that they’ve created to go along with the single (link below). While we don’t want to give too much away about the music or video, let’s just say we highly recommend you take the time out of your day to check out both. After listening though, you’re also going to want to check out the rest of each artist’s discographies. It’s always interesting to listen to these types of collaborations to know what each artist brings the table. We can confidently say that both came with top notch ideas and creation. A sonic and visual atmosphere was created here, and we just think it’s so fantastic that even in today’s day and age there’s still surprises within originality.
