ISY shares her gorgeous single & video for "Airplane Mode"
Back with arguably her best single release of the year, ISY has just dropped a single and music video for “Airplane Mode”. We are loving this one! Read on as we break down our full thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on this emerging artist.
Letting her jaw dropping vocals take center stage on “Airplane Mode”, ISY has created a seriously impressive vibe on her latest. For those out of the loop, ISY is a singer and songwriter who is effortlessly blending in R&B and Pop to what we can only consider to be a lush type of sound. In our first introduction to the artist’s music, she’s created fans for life in us, we sincerely think you’re going to love this one!
On the background of the track, ISY has provided a much needed insight in which she said, “I went kinda goofy with it at times, I didn't shy away from being a seemingly random emotional rollercoaster. That's authentic to how I was feeling while creating it, and how I think the rocky journey to confidence is for many - all over the map, circling back more and more frequently to a space of inner calm." Now we wouldn’t necessarily say she went goofy with it, however there was a sense of carefreeness in the vocals that felt like she was letting go of all insecurity.
As for the music video, what a perfect representation of the 1970’s amongst a handful of other positives. We really don’t want to give too much away to really keep the surprises at bay, but you absolutely must give this a watch. It features stunning cinematography, succinct choreographed dancing, and a whole new life surrounding “Airplane Mode”.
Truly, there isn’t a negative thing we could possibly say about this track at all. If anything, it’s given us the immense motivation to fully explore the discography of ISY. As this was our intro to the artist’s music as a whole, it’s going to be a wild ride seeing where she came from and how she got here. It looks like she’s been plenty busy during this year so far, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on more to come as well.
