Petrella defines Country Soul on newest album, "Songs Of Many Colors"

With the release of her 8th full length album, it was an absolute honor to sit with Petrella herself to get the full insight on Songs of Many Colors. Do yourselves a favor and watch our full interview below.

Proving to the world once again just how dynamic of a singer and songwriter she really is, Petrella’s unique take on country music has beyond impressed us with Songs of Many Colors. To call her legendary would be an understatement, and that will really only come across as you take the time to watch our full interview with this artist who has trailblazed a genre now known as country soul.

In our interviews for the most part, we of course love to get the insight on the record or single being promoted, however in this case it was a bit different in that we really just wanted to hear about the long and successful career that Petrella has experienced. We’ll kick it off by letting you know it surely wasn’t an easy process to get where she is today, but the detailed stories of her life are something that will stick with us forever. It truly can’t be overstated how great of a talk this was, easily one of our favorites!

As for the record Songs of Many Colors, well that was just as amazing. On the background of the record, Petrella mentioned in a separate interview, “The album reflects my many different emotions experienced during the pandemic, from personal loss depicted in the song Sweet Broken Memories to dealing with stress and anxiety in Bring It Here Baby (lead-off single for radio) to a reflection of the times with Try Something New”. That’s important to know before giving the album a spin for yourselves, but we’ll also implore you to give the lyricism a special focus to help break down one’s personal experiences.

Critics across the board, including us, are already stating that this may be some of her best work yet. We can’t help but agree as this album really puts it in a positive headspace that’s tough to replicate these days. As the genre itself is country soul, it’s a unique listening experience for those who aren’t in the know, but you’ll be begging for more as soon as the album finishes up. There really isn’t a single dull or boring moment on the entirety of the album, it’s all magnificent.

Without giving too much else away here, we just want to thank Petrella so much again for her time and honesty during our talk with her. As much as we’d love for you to watch it, the real priority shoul be to listen to Songs of Many Colors as soon as you can. We’ve included all the important links below so that you can listen and follow along for more. Enjoy!
