Send Medicine succeed on hypnotizing 3rd LP, "By Telepathy & Reputation"

Just released on July 16th, 2021, Send Medicine are back and better than ever with their 3rd studio LP, By Telepathy & Reputation. We have quickly fallen madly in love with it! Please read on with us as we share our complete analysis of the record, as well as a background on the band.

Currently representing the Los Angeles music scene, Send Medicine are a five-piece band that have consistently put their own spin on a modern psychedelic rock sound. As lovers of all things psych ourselves, we went into this review priming ourselves to judge it just a little bit harder than the rest of the music that comes our way, but lo and behold By Telepathy & Reputation has blown our minds. We are highly recommending you dive into this album right away.

For those out of the loop, since 2017, Send Medicine has consisted of Julian Hacquebard, Ryan Patrick Glennan, Marc Agostini, David Ozinga and Trevor Tallakson. Together these five equally talented musicians have been making a name for themselves and have even had the opportunity to open up for Toro y Moi and The Warlocks. While their sound has evolved over the years, this newest album output has been a true culmination of everything great they’ve ever done.

Self-released on their own label, Very Possible Records, you can expect an impeccably cohesive listening experience that clocks in at just about 41 minutes. Spanning 9 wonderfully crafted and rhythmic songs, it would legitimately be a wildly impossible task to pick a “favorite” from the record. We will say that the opener “Trouble” is a great introduction to not only the album as a whole, but to what you can expect their entire discography to sound like in a way. As mentioned, we judge this genre of music the hardest because we know it the best and have a high threshold for what’s objectively good or bad, but seriously this album has been one of our favorite listens of the year.

Taking twists and turns in sound, but always playing to a high standard from start to finish, this is the type of record we’d almost prefer you to go into blind just knowing that it comes highly recommended from us. You can expect a top tier production, swirling instrumentation, and a calming yet intriguing vocal presence to lead you to the end comfortably. As we continue to come back to the record and listen through, we sincerely can’t wait to keep discovering subtleties in the mix we may have missed the first time around.

With all that being said, we’ve done the easy part for you and included all of the important links below in order to listen and follow along for more. We hope you love it as much as we did!
