Jason Maxwell opens up on vulnerable single, "For Now"

Lyrically inspired and instrumentally impressive, Jason Maxwell has knocked it out of the park on his latest single, “For Now”. Read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a much needed background on this emerging artist.

Known for his high-energy performances and charming personality, Jason Maxwell has effortlessly infused his positive quirks into an all new single, “For Now”. Recorded at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, our initial reaction was just how anthemic and expansive the song really is once you connect the dots within the words. If for some reason this is your introduction to Jason’s music, we can think of no better starting point than with a listen to this.

Putting his own spin on country pop and actually aiming to bring something needed and fresh into the genre, “For Now” displays an upbeat vulnerability and sincerity from an artist that we were previously unfamiliar with. Typically it takes a few listens to really find the groove or to see where the artist is coming from, however this one clicked nearly immediately. Stylistically speaking, it feels reminiscent of a prime John Mayer, but where Jason has differed is his immense vocals that set the tone and a backing instrumentation that piques your interest right from the start.

On the background of it all, ultimately it’s an off the chest letter to his ex-girlfriend, which is never an easy task to write or relive. Although, it shows off Jason’s authenticity and unique approach to making music, mainly in the sense that these are true and extremely personal situations to be telling strangers that are listeners. That goes to show the type of artist that you’re about to embark on, as opposed to those who create stories out of thin air. We’d much prefer to get into the nitty gritty, it provides an opportunity to become attached to whatever else Jason is willing to let us in on.

Through his compelling words, outstanding song composition, and of course those vocals that’ll keep us coming back, “For Now” is a clear winner in our eyes and ears. Go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and to keep up with the latest news and releases. Enjoy!
