LeBarons build a slow-burning masterpiece with "Running River"
This band has mastered the art of knowing exactly when to hold back and when to let go to truly build that intensity. "Running River" from Canadian alt-country band LeBarons is a masterclass in that specific kind of patience. This is a moody and spirited track that starts somewhere warm and groovy and ends up somewhere entirely different, and the journey it takes to get there is only part of its infinite thrills.
Right from the jump, there's a “Fleetwood Mac style groove” running through this song, deep and hypnotic, the kind of pocket that makes you bob your head without ever realizing it.
