Music of Synergia & Lyz cast a hypnotic spell with "Fading Echoes"
We’re considering ourselves incredibly luck to get an early preview of a track that's clearly been built with obsessive care. "Fading Echoes" absolutely delivers on that front! Set to officially drop on September 8th (pre-save it now!), this new single from Music of Synergia, a brand new side project from Valerian Steel, the mastermind behind Manufracture Music, is a dark, hypnotic piece of electronic music that immediately marks this new project as something worth watching closely.
Based in Vienna, Steel is building this project around what he calls an A.C.I., or Analog Core Industrial, approach, and that dedication to craft really shines through here. Every sound on "Fading Echoes" was built using authentic analog synthesizers, and that choice gives the track a rich, warm depth that feels genuinely cinematic and ethereal. Interestingly, the accompanying video takes a very different route, leaning into AI-generated visuals or “AI Slop” as a deliberate and provocative contrast to all that carefully crafted analog sound. Honestly, we love that little slap in the face with this juxtaposition.
On the musical side, this is a super immersive and thrilling listen. Sitting at 120 BPM, the track moves with intention with dark and atmospheric vibes that are heavy on the synth work throughout, with layers that keep shifting and evolving in ways that keep you locked in from start to finish. There are plenty of twists and turns packed into its roughly four and a half minute runtime. That unpredictability is a big part of what makes it feel so original. Nothing here settles into complacency, every section feels like it's building toward something. When we say headphones are a must, we mean it!
The featured vocalist on the track, Lyz, deserves real credit too, as she delivers a performance that fits the mood of this track perfectly. There's an emotive quality to the vocals that pairs beautifully with all that dark, synth heavy instrumentation, giving the song a genuine pull that keeps it from ever feeling purely atmospheric. It sits right in the middle of the mix, which sometimes can make it feel like another instrument, but it’s tuned just enough to really make you fall into the beauty of the voice.
We think Music of Synergia is chasing something really specific. It’s music built for those in-between moments, between waking and dreaming or what's been lost and what refuses to let go. "Fading Echoes" captures that idea beautifully. In our opinion, it’s a late night listen with real emotional weight behind its darkness.
This is an outstanding, genuinely unique introduction to Music of Synergia, and a very promising sign of what's still to come from Valerian Steel's newest creative venture.
