Organic Mechanic releases his laidback debut single, "Hopelessness X 8"

Review by Austin Sher

Organic Mechanic have finally debuted their incredible new single, titled “Hopelessness X 8” and we absolutely loved what we heard. Read along as we take you through our review of what we thought of the track, as well as a bit of background on the artist himself.

Before we dig into the music, we’d like to provide you with a bit of background on Organic Mechanic. He describes himself as, “A creator of original compositions/instrumentals/samples inspired from earth. By blending the sounds of life, this music will allow you to accept a soul tune up, at no charge. Inspired heavily by Bob Marley, Guru, Bill Withers, and The Band; songwriting is a critical aspect of the music. Welcome to a new thought process for your ears.” When it comes to these comparisons on Bob Marley and Bill Withers, we absolutely felt that when listening to the single. The overall vibe was extremely Marley-esque, while the song overall had the soul coming straight from Bill Withers.

As for the music, we really enjoyed the overall experience of what we heard. The opening bass line was beautifully haunting in a way that kept us hooked from the get go. The female voice leading us through the song, displaying the message within hard hitting lyrics was a massive plus, and the subtle addition of the background bongos had us bobbing our head to the beat.

While the song comes in at a quick and breezy 2 and a half minutes, we honestly wish it was double the length. We could enjoy a whole album of songs just like that to chill out to and sincerely hope Organic Mechanic will be dropping something much bigger on us in the future. Overall, if you’re looking for a super chill and laid back track that you can vibe along to, look no further, because “Hopelessness X 8” is the next addition to your mood-based playlists.

Before we go though, this message from the band is one we’d like to share because we wholeheartedly agree with it. “I believe that music is meant to relay a message of raw emotion/s and growth, which isn’t shown through the mass media; reflecting our idols as demigods. We are all humans and music should be the bridge to each other’s thoughts. I hope you enjoy the music. Much more music is coming very soon.” We’re really looking forward to any new tunes coming soon!
