Project 1268 share an instrumentally uplifting single, "Our Story"
Back at it much sooner than expected, Project 1268 are on a roll with their latest single, “Our Story”. Please read on for our in-depth review of the track, in addition to an update on this musical duo.
Once again, Craig and Haley have put together something that so effortlessly blends together elements of the past, present, and future. “Our Story” is a lyrically powerful song led by Haley’s vocals, all the while it introduces a real 90’s feeling with slight synthesizers and a full on saxophone solo. The band is continuing to keep things sounding fresh and innovative, so of course we’ve got to recommend you check it out this song as soon as you can.
Described by the members as their “most intricate arrangement so far”, we’d have to fully agree with that sentiment as “Our Story” takes twists and turns like we’ve yet to experience from the band. Haley’s vocals steal the show as she delivers her powerful message, but let’s be honest, Craig’s saxophone is virtually guaranteed to avert your gaze to his instrumental talents. We suppose that’s why it works so well considering they’re playing to their strengths, but the way that they’ve presented it has resulted in a thing of beauty. You can’t help but feel like you’re being transported back 30 or 40 years, but overall the sound is still modern.
In even better news, Project 1268 has recently provided an update that they’ll have new music every month for the foreseeable future! Can you hear that? That’s the sound of us jumping for joy at the thought of new tunes on a consistent basis from a band that’s consistently piqued our interests from the moment we first heard them. As for what’s to come in terms of sound or style, but we’re quite excited for the mystery as to what’s coming next. If this happens to be your first introduction to the band, you’ve been introduced at the perfect time in their hopefully long musical career.
