Sehore turns nonsense into art on “Bla bla bla (Cha cha cha)”
In an age where overcomplication often passes for depth, Sehore’s “Bla bla bla (Cha cha cha)” feels like a bold, playful act of rebellion. The new project formed in 2025 and signed to MusicHunters Records, may be the new kid on the block, but they’re already making serious waves, earning a Bronze Medal at the 2025 Global Music Awards for this very track, alongside a Silver Medal for their song “Pesadilla.” It’s a rare feat for a debut act, and after hearing “Bla bla bla (Cha cha cha),” it’s not hard to understand why.
Recorded at Paco Loco Studio and mastered by Mario G. Alberni at Kadifornia, the production of “Bla bla bla (Cha cha cha)” is immaculate yet delightfully off-center. At just around three minutes long, it’s a concise burst of energy that feels both conceptual and strangely accessible. Built entirely around the phrase “bla bla bla,” the song takes what should be meaningless repetition and turns it into a meditation on communication itself. In its hypnotic cycle of sounds and rhythms, Sehore manages to make linguistic emptiness feel full of intention.
Though on the surface it’ll take you by surprise, it actually runs deeper than its surface simplicity might suggest. Drawing inspiration from thinkers like J.L. Austin and J.R. Searle, “Bla bla bla (Cha cha cha)” is a musical embodiment of the “performative utterance”, essentially the idea that speech itself can be action. Every “bla” becomes both statement and satire, pointing to the absurdity and the beauty of how we use words to fill space, to connect, or to obscure meaning altogether. There’s even a nod to the medieval idea of “flatus vocis” meaning words as mere breath. However, the band gives that concept a distinctly modern, rocking twist with a super cool instrumental.
Musically, the track rides an upbeat, slightly chaotic groove. The drums punch with precision, grounding the song’s eccentricities with something to bop along to. Guitars bend and jangle in unexpected ways, weaving through the repetition with off-kilter charm. The vocals, those endless “bla bla blas”, become an instrument in their own right, a rhythm mantra that grows deeper and more compelling the longer it goes on. It’s repetitive, sure, but that’s the point. For us, it was about finding meaning in nonsense, or perhaps letting go of meaning entirely and just sinking into it all.
“Bla bla bla (Cha cha cha)” is the sound of a band unafraid to experiment. Sehore may be new, but they’re already proving themselves as one of 2025’s most original and thought-provoking voices. Even better, the song is part of a record called “Husfikbur” that we reviewed in full earlier this year, and wow, is it a record to experience in full from start to finish!
