Super Love return for a tell all surrounding "The Real Me" - Interview
Giving listeners a taste of something new on their newest single “The Real Me”, we got the opportunity to sit and speak once again with Jared and Constance Watkins of Super Love! Please check out our full interview with the duo below.
Always aiming to switch it up and fulfill themselves musically, Super Love’s latest musical endeavor “The Real Me” is certainly one of the more experimental songs that the group has delivered, but one that we’re loving and accepting with wide open arms. If you’re unfamiliar with the band’s work, we’ve covered them extensively in the past, most recently with their single, “The Moon”. It’s with all sincerity though that we highly recommend everyone give their latest a spin as soon as you can.
The focal point of any great Super Love song is expressive lyricism and a vision to cross and blend multiple genres together. “The Real Me” is no different, and thankfully Constance and Jared gave us an in-depth explanation as to what the song is about and what directly inspired it as well. With Constance taking care of the vocals and Jared using his skills as a multi-instrumentalist, it’s always an absolute thrill to get to hear first hand how these songs came to be. In fact, this one was born out of an extended jam that they pulled elements from and crafted the single.
On the group as a whole though, one thing particularly that keeps us coming back is their fearlessness on each single. We urge everyone out there to do a deep dive on their discography, but one consistency you’ll find is that there’s always something different sonically that pops up, which in our opinion is paramount to a band that’s seeking growth. We can understand wanting to make the same version of the song over and over, but we’re partial to hearing new things, especially when your tastes are as vast as theirs are.
