Purposely released right around Christmas time, Taliya Hafiz is breaking new ground not only within her own discography, but within music as a whole. Her latest endeavor is a new song called “Connect To The Stars” in which it features the very first exploration of NASA sounds and samples utilized in music. Paired effortlessly with an awe-inspiring piano backing, she’s composed something immensely special and memorable for the holiday season. Undoubtedly, we’re recommending everyone hit the play button as soon as possible.

Including real snippets of sound from stars, planets, comets, and even a sampling of a Christmas message from the crew of the Apollo (US) spacecraft, immediately Taliya immerses you into an atmospheric and outrageously creative composition. Although it’s certainly on the short side at just a tad under two and a half minutes, what it’s not lacking is imagination and innovation. Of course the samplings and inclusions of the world beyond us is a serious focal point of the song, but let us not forget the sheer beauty that the piano brings into the mix as well. Clearly there was a well thought out vision prior to laying ground for “Connect To The Stars”, but the final result is surely nothing short of extraordinary.

A major recommendation we’d urge for everyone is to enjoy this on a nice pair of headphones or sound system, because the subtleties in the production are what makes this pop the most. That’s not to say it’s not emanating beauty on the surface, but the closer you listen, you’re honestly able to hear the grand depth and attention to detail that was paid on this. While we haven’t yet had the opportunity to dig into the rest of Taliya’s work, this has given us all the energy in the world to want to explore more.
