The Starkillers explore new sounds on dynamic single, "Here With You"
On only their third overall single “Here With You”, The Starkillers are continuing to evolve their already eclectic sound. We are loving it! Please read on for our full thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on this emerging band.
Pivoting their sound slightly and exploring a new and welcomed direction, The Starkillers are showing an immense amount of growth so far on their single “Here With You”. Currently based out of Salt Lake City, Utah, this band is relatively new to the scene, however they’ve sincerely got a vintage and veteran feel about them due to their expansive and atmospheric sound. It’s a fun mix of Rock, Pop, and other elements, but plenty of their own personality injected into the mix too. Without a doubt, we’re urging everyone to give their newest song a listen as soon as possible.
On the background of it all, “Here With You” is about “when you are with someone and something just clicks, that you don't want to not be with them, even for a single day or night”. Lyrically speaking, they’ve perfectly hit the mark in not only explaining that feeling through vivid lyricism, but there’s a raw and intimate feeling that the song holds that truly encapsulates that vibe. It’s certainly relatable for all those who are in budding relationships, but it’s the specificity of it all that we enjoy too. The passion coming through in the vocals is a major standout, with inflection points in the delivery that make this feel all the more sincere and fresh.
Putting the message aside for a moment though, there’s also so much to say regarding every other facet of this. The slow build up during this song’s three a half minute runtime is another factor of our love for it. At first it feels a little slow going, but as ideas, instruments, and the intensity of it all begin to build, that’s when you as a listener get the realization that something special is coming. Towards the end is when it all comes to this beautiful climax where everything converges and sort of explodes with euphoria. It’s hard to explain without listening, but it’s a dynamic shift from their first two singles. We’re so excited to hear where they decided to take their sound, and at this point, we’ll be keeping a close eye for more.
