To know that an artist like this at a young age is putting out music like this at only 15 is truly mindblowing. Tom Morfitt-White's latest single, “Home”, is outstanding from beginning to end, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. At just 15 years old, the Melbourne singer songwriter delivers a beautifully understated blend of indie folk and country that feels thoughtful, heartfelt, and remarkably self-assured.

Following the release of his debut single earlier this year “Love Me Now”, “Home” represents another confident step forward for this artist who already possesses a clear sense of identity. Rather than chasing modern trends or relying on oversized production, Morfitt-White leans into timeless songwriting, allowing subtle melody and genuine emotion to take center stage.

Rooted in acoustics and gentle folk influences, the arrangement carries the easy familiarity of classic records while incorporating elements of country that broaden the appeal. Though his influences like Olivia Rodrigo or Melanie Martinez were mentioned in our interview, this is essentially the complete opposite in the coolest way.

The production, handled with the support of London-based producer Magill Lamarre before being mastered by renowned Australian engineer Steve Smart at Studios 301, struck an excellent balance between intimacy and clarity. We’ll say it again, please listen with a nice pair of headphones because the atmospheres are fantastic.

At the center of everything is Morfitt-White's vocal performance, which is undoubtedly the song's defining feature. His voice carries a glow that's difficult to emulate, delivering each lyric with confidence. Not to harp too much on it, but it really is unbelievable the quality of his voice at such a young age. He even mentioned he’s been writing songs since he was 12. Do you remember what you were doing at 12?
