Attack the Sound reimagine their greatest hits on "Reboot to the Sound"

Reimagined and remastered, Attack the Sound have given the fans exactly what they needed with an all “new” record called Reboot to the Sound. Don’t miss it! Read our in-depth review of the record, in addition to a background on these talented musicians.

Expertly fusing together Pop, Jazz, Hip Hop, and so many other lush tones into their music, Attack the Sound have taken their greatest hits and given them a fresh new feeling on Reboot to the Sound. For this Chicago-based band, they’re 8 extremely talented members that have coined the term Chi-Pop, and it 100% shows in the music. Point blank, we’ve loved this record and can’t wait for everyone to give it a spin.

Now one of the things that took us by surprise when we dug into this record was how unexpectedly cohesive it was. Typically on a greatest hits record, you’d imagine it to be a little all over the place in messaging or tone, however the track listing here was still thought of in a positive way. The flow was spectacular and the song choices they’ve made to remaster really were a great all encompassing introduction to the band. Whether or not you’re familiar with their music or not, there’s literally something for everyone here to listen and love.

In a musical world that is heading more toward fusions of sounds, we confidently think that other bands should be taking notes, because this is the way to do it. For us, some standout tracks specifically were “Love Is War”, “People Make Love”, and “Bad News”. While of course we are highly recommending everyone give the entire record a listen, if you’re on the fence, you must check out these songs that will draw you in for more. You can expect to experience the perfect amount of funk, soul, and groove; it’s exactly what your heart needs.

Not to give too much else away, but there isn’t a single negative or critique we can point out here. The real hope here is that the band has been busy in the background working on new originals. Whether that’s happening or not, we can say the starting point for all new listeners should be to check out Reboot to the Sound
