Dirty White Shoes goes in-depth on single, "Not Always Like This" - Interview
After nearly a year of listening and loving their music, it was about time that we brought on Dirty White Shoes for an in-depth interview! Watch us talk all about their new single “Not Always Like This” below.
If you happen to be unfamiliar with the music of Dirty White Shoes, this is the perfect introduction to a sound that you’re going to love. Getting to speak with lead man Angel Ascencio all about the single was a treat, but the real gift has been this track that may just be the best thing they’ve put out yet. We of course recommend giving the song a spin, but don’t miss out on its background either.
One of the coolest things about Dirty White Shoes is really that Angel and Jordan have this massive distance between them, yet continue to make riveting and engaging music. Split between Canada and the United States, they’ve continued to make things work and you’d literally never be able to spot the difference. We particularly loved “Sucks It Hurt This Bad”, which was actually our introduction to their project.
Speaking specifically on “Not Always Like This”, it’s yet another wonderful representation of their eclectic sound. Of course it’s definitely rock-based and pop inspired, however there’s a great deal of pop punk elements that show themselves within the instrumentation and vocal delivery as well. Bursting with emotion and all the passion in the world, it’s an incredibly memorable three minute track that we know we’ll be listening to plenty in the present and future. As always, it has excited to see what else is cooking up in the Dirty White shoes kitchen, but we’ll let time tell for that one.
As mentioned, we of course want you to dig into this new song, but also to do a little exploration of your own to see what else the band has to offer. We can guarantee you’re going to find something you love no matter what type of music you prefer. Their sounds are infectious, melodies are catchy, and you legitimately feel like you’re having fun with them as the song rolls on. Don’t miss out!
