Freefade & Watermln collaborate on groovy new single, "Is It True Love"
Collaborating on a song that’s a pure blast from the past, Freefade and Watermln have just shared their all new single, “Is It True Love”. We are loving this one! Read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on these talented artists.
Who knew it would be possible to so effortlessly blend decades worth of sounds into one succinct single? Well, Freefade and Watermln have done exactly that on “Is It True Love”. Channeling a synthwave base, paired together with electronics, 80’s groove beats, and a clear influence of The Weeknd, the song itself is a perfect reason to get up and get dancing. We highly suggest you give this one a listen as soon as you can.
While Freefade has certainly been musically inclined for most of life, he’s had these unfinished ideas that haven’t seen the light of day until now. “Is It True Love” has actually been in the works since he was 10 years old and thankfully the finished product is here so the world can rejoice and get into something simply magnificent. With Watermln on the vocals lending his silky smooth delivery to the song, Freefade took care of the writing and production which came out super nicely. The best parts about these collaboration tracks is they tend to be better than solo work considering two minds are utilizing their best skills for a common good.
For us, the song checked a lot of boxes that we weren’t quite expecting at the beginning of our listen. Of course it’s quite upbeat and vibrant in sound, but everything about it is so delicately put together. You can feel the passion come through on all levels and we know that the more we listen, the more we’ll want to sing along as soon as we learn the lyrics. Truly, there isn’t a single negative critique or piece of guidance we could give, the song is flawless.
We’ll definitely be exploring the discographies of each artist, but in the meantime we’ll openly be hoping that more work between these two is on the way. Even if it’s not, we’ll always have this song to listen to when we’re feeling down. Give it a listen and enjoy!
