Claimed by the members of Morning SIlk to be the best representation of the band’s sound and an even better intro overall, we can confidently claim that sentiment is true. Having just shared their latest “Not The Only Way” and this also being our introduction to the band’s music, they’ve certifiably blown us away with this dreamy and richly produced song that personally checks all of our boxes for what we consider to be fantastic. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll dive head first into a listen as soon as you can.
On the background of it all, “Not The Only Way’ is a song “about finding yourself in a complacent situation, realizing that you aren't taking any risks, and that it's not going to take you anywhere if you stay on that path” As difficult of a situation as it is to be in, it’s absolutely one that needs to be addressed in order to break the mold and better yourself as a person or whatever next level you’re trying to reach. Lyrically speaking, Morning Silk has so eloquently put together this song in terms of being optimistic and searching for a brighter future. However, they’ve done so in a way that is so sonically magnificent on the instrumental end, you almost get distracted by everything else going on and need to come back for repeated listens just to break down the words.
Years and years later of setting their own goals and crashing through them, it seems as though Morning Silk are setting themselves up for success by finally completing their studio. Now that they’ve got a dedicated space, and an EP on the way we must remind you, things are only looking up.
